チャリティーセール charity sale

東日本大震災からもうすぐ丸４年が経ちます。未だに避難生活を強いられている方が２３万人以上いらっしゃるそうです。明日、Bay Area HEART さんの主催で復興支援チャリティーセールが行われます。ANELAもわずかですが、時間のあるときに小物を作りました。被災地に親戚や知人はいませんが、避難生活をされている方々、ワンちゃんネコちゃんなどを思って針を進めていたら涙が出そうでした。

Full four years pass from the Great East Japan Earthquake soon. The people who are still forced to life as an evacuee seems to be more than 230,000 people. A reconstruction aid charity sale is carried out by sponsorship of Bay Area HEART tomorrow.  ANELA made small products for the sale. There are not any relatives and friends in the stricken area, however, Mana almost cried when she thought about sufferers in the shelter (also dogs and cats), while she was making quilt.




チャリティーセールの企画を知ってから納品までがあまり時間がなく、急ぎ仕事になってしまい製品の仕上がりが。。。こちらも別の意味で涙が出そうでした。

After Mana knowing the plan of charity sail, there was not enough time until delivery of goods.  Mana prepared it quickly, so did not a good finish. . . Mana almost cry in a different meaning, too.




多くの方の協力で、とても素敵な物や美味しそうな物がたくさん出店されるようです。。。成功をお祈りしています。

おともできるように make lots of memories

一年ちょっとクパティノクラスでキルトを作って下さったNさんが、来月日本へご帰国されます。。。寂しい。
ハワイアンキルトが大好きで、とても意欲的に作品をたくさん作って下さいました。そしてありがたい事にANELAのキットも一緒に連れ帰って下さいます。
Nさんの好きなテイストがいっぱい。帰国されてもキルトを続けていただけたら嬉しいです。

Ms.N who continued quilting in Cupertino class for over one year, is going to return to Japan in the end of next month......it's so sad.　She really likes Hawaiian quilt and made many quilts with enthusiasm.　She decided to take a lot of ANELA's kit to Japan...... it's really appreciative.




午後のフラクラブでは４月のイベントに向けて練習です。
５分という短い時間ですがアップテンポの曲を踊るので充実感いっぱいです。
そして、こちらのメンバーのお一人Yさんも秋頃にご帰国されることが決まったそう。。。。このお知らせはいつ聞いても寂しい。 たくさん踊っていっぱい想い出を作っていただきたい。そして、やはり帰国後もフラを続けていただけたらなあと思います。

今日は”はじめてのハワイアンキルト講座”の２回目です。
ほとんどの方が頑張ってアップリケを終えられて来ました。
「大変だった〜」という感想でしたが、キルトに入るとまたしても「ひ〜」という声が。。。皆さんすごい集中力で、モクモクとキルトに取り組んでいらっしゃいました。落としキルトは練習のつもりで肩の力を抜いて進んで下さいね〜

Today was the second day of beginner course at JACC.
Mana obtained feedback how they struggled with appliqué.....and today, they struggled with quilting again. They concentrated and undertook quilting. Take your time!





そしてこちら、まさか運転しながらではありません。時間を無駄にしないよう隙間時間にキルト作りです。今月末日に行われる震災復興チャリティーに少しでも寄付出来るように制作しています。頑張ります！

先月フロリダのYさんから依頼のあったマイアミビーチのキットが出来上がりました。
そしてMさんからも、お嬢さんのおもちゃを入れて持てるミニトートという依頼をいただきこちらもキットが完成したので、本日一緒に発送いたしました。
完成品を見せていただくのが本当に楽しみです。

Mana finished to prepare two kits for sending to Florida.
She is looking forward to seeing finished these quilts.



昨年末、新しい出会いとチャンスを下さった方に男の子が誕生したので、こちらを送らせていただきました。使っていただけたら嬉しいです。

One lady who led Mana to a new encounter and chance, successfully gave birth in December.
Mana sent this baby bib to her today.

始まりました！ new lesson

今日から「はじめてのハワイアンキルト講座」がSaratoga のミツワモール内JACCで

スタートしました。参加者全員いっせいにビギナーズキットを行うのは久しぶり。

ちょっと時間内に終わらずレッスン後に外の日だまりでもう少しチクチク。。。。

皆さん少しコツをつかんで帰っていただけたと思います。来週も楽しみにお待ちしています。

A new lesson started today at JACC in Saratoga.

ハートがいっぱい！ heart ♡ heart

来週から始まる本講座に先駆けて行われた無料体験講座。
もうすぐバレンタインデーなのでハートのコースターを用意し、中に好きなデザインをキルトしていただきました。短い時間でしたので、キルト体験とハワイアンキルトの歴史や背景などに少し触れながら、作品を見ていただきました。

Mana held free trial lesson in the runup to the course that starts next week.
She prepared the heart shape coaster, and participants tried to quilting by their own design.
Also she explained about the history and the background of Hawaiian quilt




こちらは先日IKEAでみつけたフォトフレームを利用して作ったラブリーなキルト。
ハートを葉っぱに見立てて、プルメリアのお花をつけました。すぐに作れるので、ハートのチョコと一緒にバレンタインのプレゼントにするのも可愛いですね。
