触れるたびに蘇る思い出

本日Lehua のキルト、まずK さんの大きなウォールハンギング。伝統的なフラワーメドレーのパターン、今回はハイビスカス、アンスリューム、そしてジンジャーフラワーをチョイス。情熱的な赤がとても映えますね。ジンジャーフラワーのキルトラインが素敵です。はなまる〜🌺

Today's quilt is this big wall hanging that Ms. K finished. Mana chose hibiscus, anthurium and ginger flower for this pattern, it is very traditional style but red color is passion and very beautiful. Great work!



そしてこちらはYさんのクリスマスのシャドーミニタペ２点。２枚セットの季節シリーズの第一弾です。ご帰国されるのでハロウィンや夏をイメージしたキットをお持ち帰りいただくことになりました。

This is shadow quilting of Christmas them mini tapestry that Ms. Y finished them. She still continues making season's quilting, but she has to return Japan next week, so she brings some quilting kits, like Halloween, Easter, and summer theme one.



今日は二人同時にご帰国になるため最後の追加レッスンでした。お別れは本当に寂しいですが、一緒にキルトを作った皆んなのつながりが途絶えることはありません。
キルトは写真のないアルバムのようなもの。作ったキルトに触れるたび、その時に一緒に過ごした友達の笑顔、たわいのないおしゃべり。。。。そんな素敵な時間を思い出させてくれるでしょう。これからもアルバムのページを増やしていくようにキルトを作っていってくださいね。お供したキットの完成報告お待ちしております。Aloha ❤️

Today is the last day of the two students in this class. They will return to Japan next week. The time to say goodbye is very painful, but the relationship never breaks.
A Hawaiian quilt is like an album with no photos, and when you touch it, it reminds you of the precious time you spent with your friends. please keep quilting and increase the number of pages.

Art とWineとそしてフラ

Santa Clara 主催のArt & Wine Festivalに参加して来ました。こちらのイベントに参加するのは今回が初めてのため、みんなちょっと緊張気味？出番前も練習に余念がありませんでした。

朝一番の出演にもかかわらず、たくさんのオーディエンスが集まり、初挑戦だった観客を巻き込むエンディングもとても盛り上がり大成功！　英語のMCがもっと上手にできたらよかったのですが。。。と、ここは反省。

終わった後の皆んなの笑顔はとてもキラキラと輝いていました。

やっぱりフラっていいなあ〜と思えた一日🌈幸せですALOHA❤️

Hula のための物

本日のキルトはHibiscus のAさんのイプケース。フラで使う楽器イプをしまうためのケースです。青と黄色のコントラストがエンジェルトランペットのモチーフを際立たせています。ますます、練習が楽しくなりますね。はなまる〜🎺

Today's quilt is this Ipu case that Ms. A made it. The contrast of two colors is very beautiful. It must be fun to practice hula more and more with this. Good job!



そして、今日はフラの練習後、日曜日のイベントのためにティリーフのレイ作りに挑戦しました。とてもシンプルなものですが、ねじねじの力加減でそれぞれ表情が違います。
当日はお花をつけてエンディングを飾る予定。楽しみです！

Hula members made Ti leaf lei for the event of coming Sunday. It is very simple but each lei look different by lei maker. We cannot wait to put it on! 

大切なのはこの出会い

本日のキルトはMさんのファーストキルト。アップリケもキルトラインも彼女のイメージのように優しく柔らかい雰囲気に仕上がりました。ハワイアンキルトとの出会いの作品、大切にしてくださいね。　はなまる〜

Today's quilt is this first quilt that Ms. M finished it. The line of both appliqué and quilting is soft and gentle, it seems like her image. well done!

フラの練習も来たる日曜日のイベントに向け気合が入っております。出入りが多い場所なので、今回もこのメンバーで踊れるのは今回きり、大切な出会いに感謝して、さあ〜頑張ろう！

追い込み中です！

2019年も９月に入りいよいよ後半戦！！　夏休み明けで次々と新しいキットのご依頼を受け、それに加え今月末、本帰国が急に決まったお二人から、お持ち帰り用キットのご依頼も頂戴しました。Labor day の３連休、部屋にこもって机に向かい、デザインを考え、決まったものから実寸台のパターンに起こす作業が続きました。これを元に布の準備アイロンかけ、カットと工程が続きキットにしていきます。

Back to school, back to work! Everybody wants to make new quilts? Mana got many order for it, so she continued design and making patterns for each order during Labor Day weekend.




フラの方も今月のイベントに向けメンバーはやる気満々、延長や追加のレッスンが続きます。

Hula club is also quite busy, and continue extra lessons for upcoming event.





今週ほんとは遅い夏休みを頂戴し、１週間のんびり過ごす予定だったのですが、フロリダに大きなハリケーンDorian が直撃するかもということで予定を変更せざるおえませんでした〜😢「のんびり休んでる場合じゃないよ、しっかり仕事せい！」ということだったのかも。。。でもリフレッシュも必要なので日程をうんと縮小して行って参ります。戻ったら、キットの製作、衣装の製作、オーダー、そしてレッスン、レッスンと、頑張りますっ！

Mana was intended to take a late summer vacation this week, however, since hurricane Dorian might hit Florida, the schedule was changed. It maybe a suggestion from Dorian "Don't rest! keep working!".  Actually Mana doesn't have enough time for it.  ANELA is now working harder and harder for dancing & quilting. 💪
