舞い降りてきた天使

 本日は日本から完成報告が届いたベビーキルトをご紹介します。昨年コロナ禍でご帰国されたAさんがお二人目の赤ちゃんのために日本からキットを依頼してくださいました。なんとも嬉しいご依頼❤️　キット製作時にはまだ性別はわからず、薄いグレーで落ち着きのある柔らかなイメージの色をチョイスされました。

お子さんの成長を祈ってモチーフはUlu (ブレッドフルーツ) そしてご両親の愛情をたっぷり受けて育って欲しいという願いをパターンに込めたデザインです。

Today, I would like to share this baby quilt that has received a completion report from Japan. Ms. A, who returned to Japan last year, ordered a kit  for her second baby. It really made me happy❤️ We did not know the sex yet, so she chose a light gray color with a calm and soft image.

The motif is Ulu (breadfruit) to pray for the growth of the child with a lot of parents' love.

3月17日に無事に男子を出産されたというご報告をお写真と共にいただきました。頑張って作り上げた愛情たっぷりのキルトの上で眠る赤ちゃんは美しく、まさに舞い降りてきた天使のようですね。

無事ご出産そしてキルトの完成もおめでとうございます！はなまる〜天使！

She showed me these photos.  She gave birth to a boy safely on March 17th. The baby sleeping on the loving quilt that she worked hard to create is beautiful, just like an angel who has come down.

Congratulations on your childbirth and the completion of your quilt!  Great job!

先生のデザインが好き！先生のフラがやっぱり好き！と言ってキットをオーダーしてくださったり、オンラインでレッスンを受けてくださる方々がいることが、このパンデミックの中、私を支えてくれています。その大きさは計り知れません。本当にありがとうございます。心から感謝Mahalo❤️

海のシリーズ 🐟

本日のキルトはこちらのクッションカバー。先日の亀とマンタに続きTribal スタイルの海シリーズ第３弾！選んだモチーフはタコです！🐙

シャチと悩んだのですが対称性のあるタコにしました、そしてこのシリーズもこれで一旦終了しようと思います。

Today's quilt is an octopus pattern cushion cover. This is a tribal style ocean series, and I will complete it with this quilt.

ハワイアンキルトは今回のように何か関連付けたモチーフでいくつか作品を作ったり、同系色で何個か作ったり、そんな楽しみもあります。大きな作品にトライするのも一つですが、数で勝負もなかなか素敵ですよ❣️

Hawaiian quilts can be enjoyed by making series of works and making many works of similar colors. Making big quilts is great, of course, but making lots of small ones will also satisfy you.

いづれにしても身の回りにたくさんのハワイアンキルト、そんな暮らしいかがですか？

マスク姿も女性らしく

まさか世界中の人たちが日常的にマスクを着用するようになるなんて、一年前の誰が想像できたでしょう。今となっては本当に当たり前となりました。急速にワクチンの接種が進んでいますが、マスクの着用はまだ求められています。

だんだんレストランでの食事も解禁になり、着席時はもちろんマスクを外しますが、ちょっと化粧室に行こうと思うと、またバッグからマスクを取り出し着用しないといけません。そんな時マスクホルダーがあるととても便利。

LeaMana Collectionでは、まるで繊細なレイをかけているようなそんなマスクホルダーを作りました。

Who could have imagined a year ago that people all over the world would wear face masks on a daily basis? Everybody already knows wearing it is not special. Vaccination is progressing, but face masks are still requiered. 

We can eat in at a restaurant now, and we will take off face mask at the table, but if you want to go to the restroom, you have to take mask out of the bag and mask up again. In such a case, it is very convenient to have a mask holder.

 LeaMana Collection made such a beautiful mask holders that looks like a flower lei.

マスクの付け方は２way。ちょっと写真を取りたいときはスッとマスクを後ろにずらしただけで、まるでレイをかけているようになりとても可愛いです。

２本、または３本をツイストさせてもっとゴージャスにすることもでき、手放せないアイテムとなりそうです❣️

There are 2ways to put it on. When you want to take a picture, you just move it back a little and it looks like wearing a lei and it's very cute.　 It's going to be a must-have item ❣️

今日はキルトではないのですが、ワンデーソーイングで作ったこちらを紹介いたします。いつもアシスタントとして活躍しているLeaのドレス、そしてお揃いのラップパンツです。

Today, I introduce you my new project "LeaMana Collection". This collection provides an outfit that makes Hula Girls and their precious buddies cute and comfortable.

Leaのドレスはちょっと大きめになってしまいました。。。

This was a little too big for Lea.

そしてラップパンツはとっても楽で動きやすいので、いつでも思った時にフラが踊れそう❣️

あれから１０年

 あれから１０年です。

月日は流れて、復興も進んで、街は綺麗になりました。

でも人が戻らない場所もあり、コミュニティーの復興はまだだそうです。

戻りたくても、原発の影響でまだ戻れない地域もあります。

あれから１０年です。

当時、私は日本にいませんでした。

だから本当の意味で、その時の恐怖は体感していません。

でも、画面に映る映像を見た時のショックは今でもはっきり覚えています。

あれから１０年です。

ずっと支援をしてきた多くの方もいます。

もちろんずーっと続けて行く事は想像以上に大変だと思います。

１０年というのは一つの区切りになります。

でも、そうして人々の心から、あの日が色あせてしまっていいことではありません。

先月起こったマグニチュード７の地震は余震だと聞いて信じられないと思いました。

あれから１０年です。

でも、まだ苦しみも、悲しみも、恐怖も続いています。

それでも

たくさんの涙を少しづつ笑顔に変えて

強く、逞しく、懸命に前を向いて進んでいる人達がいることを

決して忘れてはいけません。

あれから１０年です。

新しい命も生まれています。

日本人の人口の１０人に一人が、すでにあの災害を知らないそうです。

そうやって新しい日々は確実にやってきます。

今、こうして生きていられることに感謝しましょう。

ただ、感謝しましょう。

世のために、人のために何かしなければ

そんな脅迫観念は必要ないと思います。

人は皆、生まれてきたことに意味があるのだから、

今日という一日を笑顔で過ごしましょう。

笑顔を伝染させましょう。

変なウィルスを広めず、

素敵な笑顔と感謝の心を広めましょう。

Ten years ago March 11th, the huge earthquake and tsunami that struck eastern Japan killed more than 20,000 people and went missing.

Many people were forced to evacuate due to the accident at the nuclear power plant caused by this earthquake.

The magnitude of the damage caused by this earthquake is still in my mind as an unforgettable memory.

I hear that even as reconstruction progresses, there are still many challenges in cultivating new connections between people in the newly built community.

Due to the effects of the nuclear power plant accident, there are still area where people are unable to return to their homes.

Under such circumstances, an earthquake with a magnitude of more than seven occurred off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture last month.

This earthquake is considered to be an aftershock of the Great East Japan Earthquake. So I can say, the disaster 10 years ago is still going on and is not a thing of the past.

I have no relatives or friends in the Tohoku region, but I dedicate this hula to Japan my homeland, this year again.

もうすぐ春だから？リフレ〜ッシュ！

 3月に入り、このパンデミックももう１年。。。。。

毎年、年明けから春のステージに向け新曲を練習したり、衣装を用意したり、忙しくもワクワクしたこの時期。今も色んな曲に出会うたび、この曲はあのステージにぴったりだったなあ〜などふとよぎりながら一人踊っています❤️

呆れるほど💦進みの遅いYoutube の動画配信もそろそろ一年。当初は教室でのレッスンの延長線上と考えていたので教室名をそのまま使用していたのですが、この度、なんのタイミングや節目でもないのに（笑）チャンネル名をちょっと変更！！バナーやアイコンも一新しちょっとリフレッシュいたしました〜！！

この一年弱、ひたすらスマホに向かう孤独な作業。。。気持ちが凹むことも数え切れません。でもなぜかそういう時にいただくんです。暖かいお言葉。

１００％日本語での動画にもかかわらず「日本語は全くわからないが、デモンストレーションが良いので、習える気がする。」というコメント。⭐️

「本当に美しいフラだからもっとみんなに見てもらった方がいい」という友人のメッセージ。✨

度重なる絶妙なタイミングに感謝です。

ミニマリスト！

 本日のキルトはこちらのカードホールダーです。幅広ゴムテープとレザーで作られた商品をあるウェブサイトで目にし、面白いアイデアだと思いキルトで作ってみました。

キルトは本革のように固くないし、写真では細かいところはわからなかったので、実際の商品と同じではありませんが、可愛く出来たので、紹介します。

Today's quilt is this card holder. I saw a product made of elastic tape and leather on a website, and thought it was an interesting idea, so I made it with a quilt.

The quilt is not as hard as genuine leather, and I couldn't see the details in the photos, so it's not the same as the actual product, but I want to share it with you because it's pretty.

パターンはモンステラ、テープの色に合わせて黒を選びましたが、小物なのでもっと鮮やかな色でもきっと素敵。

スナップボタンを使いたかったのですが、一般的なものはキルトの厚みに対応できず、今回は普通のホックを縫いつけました。

The pattern is Monstera, and I chose black to match the color of the tape, but since it is a small item,  more vivid color also good.

I wanted to use press type snap buttons, but the general one couldn't handle the thickness of the quilt, so this time I sewed an ordinary one.

ゴムテープを取り付けるときサイズ調整など少し気を使いますが、本体のキルトはあっという間に出来上がるので、ちょっとしたプレゼントとして作るのに最適！

知らずにたまる多くのショップカードを持っている方、反対にアプリを使いこなしキャッシュレスの方、どちらもコンパクトに可愛く収納できるので毎日がワクワクしそうです。

When attaching the elastic tape, you need to be a little careful about adjusting the size, but the quilt is completed very quickly, so it is also ideal for making a small gift!

Those who have many shop cards, and those who are familiar with the app and are living a cashless life, both should love it because it is very pretty and convenient.
