色、いろいろ
本日のキルトはプルメリアのYさんのクッションカバーです。パイナップルは皆さん黄色を選びがちですが、パイナップル産業が盛んであったLanai 島のカラーオレンジを選択され可愛く仕上がりました。はなまる〜

こんな椅子に座りたい
本日はANELAのお遊びキルトを紹介します。
スリフトショップで売っていたおもちゃの椅子。布部分がとても汚れていたのですが張り替えてみようと思い購入。せっかくなので座面部をハワイアンキルトにしました。背もたれとアーム部分は色調を合わせたハワイアンプリントの端布を使ってこんな可愛くなりました。
Today's quilt is this doll's chair. When Mana found it in a secondhand shop, the fabric had damaged a lot, but she thought it would be ok to change the fabric. Mana made a small quilt for the seat, and the chair became very cute.
ANELAのくまさん一家登場。Dad & Momは一人でKidsは二人仲良く座れる大きさです。
今度本物の椅子でちょうどいいものを見つけたらやってみたいです。
Because this chair is very small, Mana want to try same thing to actual size chair next time.

涼しげで、思い出もいっぱい
本日のキルトは１ヶ月前にも完成報告を送ってくださった上海のSさんの作品、テーブルセンターです。偶然持っていらしたコースターが以前身につけていらしたPa'uスカートの色とマッチされていたのでその色で、そしてパターンはよく踊られた曲のイメージでというご依頼でした。直接その曲に出てくる植物というよりは、曲のテーマである家族をイメージしたUlu の葉が風にそよいでいるようなそんなデザインにしました。
Today's quilt is this table center by Ms. S. As soon as she finishes previous quilt, started this and finished after about one month. Because she had the coaster with the color of her pa'u skirt coincidentally, chosen blue and green. Mana designed Ulu leaf because imaged one of song which is memorable for Ms. S.

愛情深く
本日のキルトはHibiscus のSさんのIpuケース。お嬢様の小さなIpu用と同時進行で二つ完成です。いつもお子さんたちの主体性を大切に子育てをされているS さん。キルトの作製も丁寧で綺麗に仕上げていただきました。心に響くIpu の音色が聞こえてきそうです。

暖かさをキープ
本日ご紹介するキルトはHibiscus のMさんが作られていたChemex 用のカバーです。他の方がティーポットカバーとして作られていたものを応用した作品となりました。Chemexはコーヒーの抽出に少し時間がかかり冷めやすいという難点がありますが、このカバーを利用したらそんな心配も解決です。素敵なコーヒータイムを楽しめそうですね。はなまる☕️

May Day 2019
毎年母の日の週末に行われるMay Day Festival に今年も参加してきました。
今年は天候が不安定なのですが、当日は夏のようなスッキリとした青空のもとWahine １７人Keiki ８人で参加。あっという間の３０分のステージを楽しんできました。とにかく参加者の笑顔が素晴らしく、気負いのないパフォーマンスをすることができたと実感しています。みなさん！はなまる〜〜
Hula Club ANELAはSFベイエリアで生活している日本人女性がフラの楽しさを知るきっかけになったり、新しい出会いの場となったり、なれない土地での情報交換ができたり、またちょっとした心のゆとりを感じリフレッシュできる場になれば良いなとスタートしました。駐在の方が多い場所柄ゆえメンバーの交代も多いのですが、おかげさまで今年で丸５年。これからも立場をわきまえ、ANELAにできることを細々と続けていこうと思います。今日も笑顔で過ごせることを願って aloha❤️
