ゆっくり成長しよう！ in a relaxed way

昨年ANELAはベビーラッシュ。男の子二人、女の子二人と可愛いOhanaが誕生したので、年末の休みの間にベビービブを作りました。ちょっと遅ればせながらの方もいるのですが２０１４年版ANELAの出産祝いです。

In 2014, four new babies joined ANELA as ohana.
Mana made baby bibs as present for them.




そして、本日のクラスではキルトで緊張した肩や首をほぐすため、後半に太極拳をしました。ゆったりした動きの中でしっかり体幹の筋肉を鍛えます。
物も人も、そして生き方もバランスが大切。良いバランスをキープするためにはその幹と土台作りが欠かせません。基本を怠る事なかれ。今年もゆっくり、じっくり積み上げて行きましょう。

Today's lesson.
Elua class tried Tai-chi after quilting.  Tai-chi is very good exercise that develops muscle of body trunk. Balance is very important for everything, and base is very important for keeping good balance. Do not neglect groundwork.  Let's spend a great deal of time trying to do it!!

ぬくもりのキルト heartwarming quilt

年末から２週間ほどお休みの間に、完成作品のご報告をいただいています。
こちらはクパティノ、エルアクラスのNさんの作品。
ほんとはミニタペストリーに仕上げるはずだったのですが、出来上がりに納得出来ず、急遽ジュエリートレイに変更されました。でもそのおかげでとても気に入って使って下さっているそうです。キルトもきっと嬉しい。素敵な作品になりました。

During happy holidays, Mana got two completion reports.
Ms. N of E lua class finished this jewelry tray. She was going to make a mini tapestry, but she could not satisfy the finish and remade it. She is greatly pleased with the result. Very good!!


           

そして、こちらはエカヒクラスのKさんの作品。
息子さんがすっごく気に入って下さったそう。ママのぬくもりいっぱいのキルトを両手に抱え、すりすりしてとろけそうなお顔が本当に可愛い。スカイプで日本のおじいちゃんとおばあちゃんにも見せていたそうです。うれしい〜

Ms.K of E kahi class finished blue Christmas quilt. Her son really really likes it, and showed grandparents it by Skype.
How sweet ♥♥  It must be the best present of all !!!





キルトをいっぱいさわって、そのぬくもりを感じて使っていただけるのがキルト冥利につきると思います。こんな風に使っていただけるキルトがたくさん出来るように今年も少しでもお手伝いさせていただきます。

Mana is so happy to hear...... they touch it, use it and feel a lot of warmth.
ANELA is going to help them to make a heartwarming quilt in 2015.

世間の評価はもちろんシビアーです。
ネームバリューや何かのバックグランドが無いと認めていただくことは大変です。実際、ある講座でANELAの時だけ講師名に敬称もつけていただけなかった事がありました。

それでも、今まで長年積み重ねて来た物をベースに、キルトに少しでも興味を抱いて下さった方にキルトに取り組む楽しさをお伝えするため日々邁進しています。

Mana is just a old lady who is able to make a Hawaiian quilting.
She is not a famous person and has not a big backer.
However, she feeds someone good tips on quilting very hard.


今年から始まったフラクラブも「ただの真似事」と訝しく思われる方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。しかし立場をわきまえ、ハワイアンミュージックにのって皆でただ楽しく踊る事は、周りに迷惑をかける事もなく、また揶揄されるような事でもないと思います。

ANELA's hula is not authentic hula, it is imitated, it is just Hawaiian style dance.
Somebody may think so.....
However, Mana never talk about important Hawaiian culture thoughtlessly in a know-it-all attitude.
Who can look down on people who simply enjoy dance with Hawaiian music..... nobody can.

どんな事も「楽しめる」それが素晴らしく、幸せな事。
奥さんやお母さんがとても楽しげにしていたら、周りの家族だって幸せなはずです。

The one thing that's more happy than anything else is" ENJOY."


”ANELAのキルトが好き、フラが好き”  そう思っていただけるよう来年も努力し、皆さんが「楽しむ」お手伝いを少しでも出来たらと思います。

クリスマスキルト Christmas quilt

昨日のクパティノクラス完成品
こちらはサンタイベントまでに間に合わせたいという事で、アップリケのいらないシャドーキルトです。映画Frozenのイメージでお願いします、というご要望にお答えしてキットを用意させていただきました。いかがでしょう。

Yesterday Cupertino class.
Mana got a request of this kit that the image is Frozen and making is simple.




ツリーのミニクッションは息子さんのお気に入り。小さなお子さんが抱きしめるのにちょうど良いサイズです。。。。

This tree shape pillow is good size for child.





こちらはANELAの暖炉です。
クリスマスには欠かせないストッキング、色を反転させ、UluとAngel's trumpet の代表的なパターンで、落ち着いたイメージに仕上げました。

This is an ANELA's fire place.
The stocking is indispensable in Christmas season. Mana made them with typical pattern of Hawaiian quilt.

イベント参加 Aloha Poly Fest

今日はHula Club ANELAが初めてイベントに参加、今までの成果をお披露目です。
ゴールデンゲートパークで行われたAloha Poly Fest
ブースも用意してもらったので、少しだけキルトや小物の販売もしました。

Hula Club ANELA attended the first event in San Francisco today.

Mana had a vendor space, and made a sale of hawaiian quilt.

フラを始めて半年の皆さんですが、とにかく踊る事を楽しんで下さいました。
しっかり皆の動きもあってとても良かったです！！

終わった後も皆さんとてもいい笑顔で、また次のイベントに出たい！と。
思いきって参加してみて、ますますやる気になったメンバー一同でした。来年も楽しみましょう！

After performance, they said they want to attend next event, with nice smile.
This experience was good incentive for them.  Let's enjoy hula next year too!

キット一杯！

本日のクパティノクラスへは新しいキットを両手いっぱいに抱えて伺いました。

Today's lesson. Mana held many kits to fill the both hands.



そして、完成したベビーキルト２点。
こちらは先月末無事に女の子を出産されたIさんの作品です。アップリケが上手なIさんは、パステル系のカラフルな色を選ばれましたが、まとまりよく、ちょっとクラシカルな印象もあるキルトになりました。はなまる〜〜

Ms. I who delivered the end of last month, finished this pastel color quilt.
It's colorful, but classic impression. Good work!!





そして、こちらは来月出産予定のNさんの作品。イルカとカメの組み合わせですが、女の子向けにピンクの濃淡、♡も入って何とも愛らしいキルトに仕上がりました。good！！
そして、お兄ちゃんの為に同じセンターでボーダー違い、青緑の濃淡でもう一枚。
早速スタートされていました。ご無理の無いよう進めて下さいね。

This is another baby's quilt that Ms.N finished. She has delivery in next month.
She chose dolphins and turtle with pink color, it's finished very lovely. Good job!!
And, she started a new one for older son today. Please do it at a reasonable pace.

気がついたらブログが一ヶ月も更新されていませんでした。。。><;
Thanksgiving のお休みなどがありましたが、もちろんこの間もレッスンはあり、
皆さん着々と進行、こちらのベビーキルトは完成です。とても淡い色合いですが、
キルト糸は赤を使うという、Sさんのこだわりの一枚です。お疲れ様でした。

Mana found herself no update this blog for one month.....
Of course, there were lesson, and everybody works steadily on their quilts.
Ms. S finished this baby's quilt. The color is pale pink and blue, but she used red thread for quilting.
Beautiful work!!




そして、新たにベビーキルトが２枚です。
どちらもお兄ちゃん用、海系。。。。(^o^)

Mana prepared new baby's quilt for big brother, and both theme is sea .....
